March Newsletter 2008

Nate & Britni (Hall) Watkins writes:

Hello everyone! Just thought I'd let you all know that by the next newsletter, I should hopefully have some pictures of my new little boy to share! I am only 5 weeks away from my due date and am completely miserable! There is so much for all of you who aren't as far along to look forward to! Hope all is well with everyone!

Misty (Hulet) Burnett says:

Hey everyone! This is Misty (Hulet) Burnett. It has been ages since I have written an update letter. Sorry for that! I actually have some really fun news this time. I am pregnant! I am about 5 months along. We still don't know for sure whether the baby is a boy or a girl. And yes, we are going to find out. The baby is just not cooperating. We have another appointment on Thursday, March 27. Cross your fingers that we will be able to find out. Also, my husband and I are buying a house. We have put an offer in on a beautiful house in Clearfield. It is crazy to think that I am almost a home owner and a parent. I feel like such a grown-up!As for the rest of life, I graduated from Weber State, with a degree in Family Studies in May. I have been working as a Head Start teacher in Ogden since July. I have 15 very sweet 3-5 year olds in my class. They are very fun, but also very crazy at times. I really enjoy it, though. The kids say the funniest things. They keep me laughing. My husband works as a finance guy at Sierra RV. I actually worked there as a receptionist as I put myself through college. Well, I think that is about all my news. I hope to hear from many of you this month!

Krista (Combe) Harrison says:

Congratulations Jake and Allie on getting married! The month of March was fun. My dad had a business trip in Orlando which is a short six hour drive, however, flying is even shorter! Parker and I went down to Orlando and played with my mom most of the time. A couple of days we went to visit my dad at the state park he was at. My dad is working for John Deere so he got to play with a bunch of tractors the whole time. When I got down in Orlando, the first night we decided to get up super early in the morning to see the Space Shuttle lift off at the Kennedy Space Center. There aren't too many lift-offs left for the space shuttles, they are retiring the shuttles. I guess they are moving a different direction nowadays. If you get the chance I would suggest trying to see a lift-off at night. Seeing the shuttle take off was super cool! The weather was just nice enough and the pool at the condo was just warm enough that we were able to go swimming a few times. Parker really loves the water, it's great because his bottom side seems to float a little better than his top. My mom took us to Sea World. Even though Parker is really young he still had so much fun. The best part was the dolphin show. I remember when I was younger that I wanted to go into Marine Biology and then become a trainer at Sea World. That dream only came when I was at Sea World though, I don't think I could handle feeding dead fish all day to the animals. Just after I visited with my parents in Orlando my grandparents (Combe) came to visit us in Atlanta. I tell you what all you need to do to get family to visit is have a kid. The parents love the grandkids! Willie had his spring break which was really nice because we got to spend just a little more time with each other. Don't get me wrong he was still busy but he didn't have to stay at school until 8:00 p.m. I have been doing some consignment sale shopping. I tell you what, Utah misses out on these great events. Utah has the D.I. but everywhere else they have consignment sales! I love it, you get great quality stuff for really cheap. Sure it's used but a little wash will fix that. We are getting geared up for Easter this year. We plan to celebrate the bunny stuff on Saturday and then on Sunday we will focus on Jesus Christ. I love the Easter season, the flowers are blooming and we get to think of new life. Spring is a fun season. I hope that you all enjoy it. Have a great Spring!

Happy St. Patrick's Day and Easter in the same month!! Happy Spring! Corey and I decided last minute to fly to Ft. Lauderdale, FL to hang out on the beach for a few days. We probably should have checked the weather before we booked our flights--it's a little cloudy, but it sure is a lot warmer than Boston! It's nice to get away for a little while. Krista, I can't believe how BIG Parker is already! I love Sea World!!! Good luck Nat with school--it's the last part of the race! Congrats to all of you expecting little ones soon! That's exciting! Life is good--we're just trying to finalize some internship possibilities.

For any of you in Utah looking to support the arts in Ogden--Peter Pan will be playing at BHS in April! I was sent an email for a billboard advertisement and it occurred to me that Peter Pan looked really familiar--probably because it was my brother Kyle! :) We totally wish we could be there--so if you do go, maybe Corey and I could live vicariously through you!
